A half of beef is approximately 180-270 lbs ( depending on hanging weights ) and takes up less freezer space than you might imagine – approximately 6.5 cubic feet of space. Our half beef consists of ground beef, steaks (tenderloin, sirloin, round, t-bone, cube, flat iron and rib) and roasts. A typical breakdown of the cuts is about 50% ground beef, 25% ribs and roasts and 25% steaks (T-bone, tenderloin, sirloin tip, round, cube, etc.) and stew/kabob meat.
